Accurate Machine Products Corporation is a family-owned and operated business, founded in Johnson City, Tennessee in 1946. Initially focused on serving the growing textile fiber manufacturing industry in the southeastern United States, and later around the world, in the mid-1950s we began working with Atomic Energy Commission (now Department of Energy) and other nuclear facilities, providing highly-specialized equipment such as reactor components, process tanks, material handling equipment, shielding, laboratory gear, and gloveboxes.
As DOE began to address the pressing need for safer and more efficient nuclear shipping containers, Accurate was well-positioned with its extensive manufacturing experience, non-destructive testing program and ASME Code “U” stamp to build a new generation of containers. Accurate is one of a handful of American companies qualified and experienced in building Type B fissile-grade shipping packages. We have been involved in the manufacture of these advanced and highly complex products for over thirty years, working closely with DOE facilities through many iterations in design.
| Each member of our management and supervisory team is an expert machinist, fabricator, or quality-control specialist, and many learned their trade right here at Accurate through an apprenticeship or training program.
