Wellness Center
Our spacious 6,000 sq. ft. Wellness Center features the latest in treadmills, ellipticals and lifecycles for cardiac health and overall fitness, as well as the newest resistance equipment and free weights. Membership includes a FREE, individualized, orientation with a Wellness Coach to help you select what exercise routine works best for you.

Indoor Aquatic Center
Our beautiful Indoor Aquatic Center offers zero-depth entry with a family adventure center housing interactive components, providing countless hours of fun! The Aquatic Center provides group and individual swim lessons, arthritis water aerobics, water fitness classes and lap swim.

Indoor Walking Track
The special surface of the Indoor Walking Track, located in the Wellness Center, is anti-slip and impact absorbent to help prevent injuries. Enjoy walking all year long in a temperature controlled environment.

Group Exercise Studio
Whether you are an experienced group exercise participant or a novice, the Group Exercise Studio provides a healthy, inspiring setting for all types of exercise classes. From Yoga and Step Aerobics to Cardio Fitball and Strengthening, certified fitness professionals provide specialized classes for all ages and those with special needs. Ballroom Dancing (summer) and Modern Western Square Dancing (fall) are also offered in our Group Exercise Studio providing a fun, social atmosphere to get fit.

Indoor Spin Cycle Center
The Spin Center provides a unique way to cycle to health while getting a fantastic cardio workout on a specially designed stationary bicycle.

Arcade Interactive Fitness Zone (ages 6 and up)
The YMCA of Avery County houses the first XRKade in North Carolina. Exergaming is technology-driven physical activities which create a virtual reality experience requiring participants to use their bodies to participate in the gaming activity. Simply put, exergaming is fun for the whole family! Dance, Dance Revolution, Jackie Chan Boxing, Interactive Cycling and Snowboarding…it’s so much fun you’ll forget your getting a great workout. Exergaming is the hottest growing segment in the fitness industry!

KidZone Child Watch
Our KidZone staff provides nurturing and interactive care for children 6 weeks to 6 years in a safe and fun environment. The kids will enjoy playing in the KidZone while you take time for yourself and it’s absolutely FREE to members.

Locker Rooms
Our YMCA provides locker rooms for men and women and individual family locker rooms for those with children or special needs. Simply request a locker key at the membership services desk.

Massage Therapy
Massage and Bodywork Therapy services are provided.
